Celebrating Women in Science History

Each year, the AAAS/Subaru Prize for Excellence in Science Books celebrates outstanding science writing and illustration for children and young adults. In total, we highlight books in four categories: Children’s Science Picture Book, Middle Grades Science, Hands-on Science, and Young Adult Science.

In honor of Women’s History Month, AAAS is showcasing a few titles that we have honored, celebrating women in STEM. This video features five books about women who had a major impact in science history.

Women's History Month is celebrated during March in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, corresponding with International Women's Day on March 8, and during October in Canada, corresponding with the celebration of Persons Day on October 18.
